While we were investigating about the treaties we realized that they were very important to the EU and we found this.


European Treaties.

The Treaties establish the objectives of the EU, the rules for the institutions, how decisions are taken and the relationship between the EU and the member states.

The treaties are negotiated and accepted by all the member states and at the same time ratified by the parliaments or the referendum.


The Treaty of Paris is the first one who creates the European Community of Coal and Steel. It was signed on 18th of April 1951 it entered in vigor in 1952 and expired in 2002.


The Treaty of Maastricht was signed on the 7th of February in 1992; it entered in vigor in 1993. It created the European Union and gave more importance to the European Parliament in the decision pick up and added new cooperation ambits.


The Treaty of Lisbon was signed the 13th December 2007 and entered in vigor in 2009. It simplified the work method and the voting rules, created the European Counsel’s president introduced new structures with the objective to transform the EU in to a more important agent in the world’s scene.
